It was wonderful to harvest some of our vegetables, under Isobel's watchful eye, and to see volunteer's able to take some of it home to add to their supper.

A day when we got to show our project in it's best light! We were visited by judges from Farnham in Bloom as we have entered the Madge Green Community Garden Project category.

It was all about team effort on the acre today. We had a big task ahead, after our successful bid at the innovation conference last month we were finally able to fund the pond liner, we now just needed to lay it!

What a magical day on the acre! Day by day our vista changes as our plants grow and new colours are added to the palette creating a riotous assault on our senses.

The weather was glorious and highlighted the beautiful colours of the wildflowers within the meadow. Corncockle, poppy, oxide daisy and clover, amongst many others, swayed gently in the long wild grasses with mayflies, honeybees and butterflies making themselves busy, darting and flitting about the place.

One of today's tasks was to make all our beds, vegetable and flower, look a bit more presentable as weeds had started to spread.

Lots of elements coming together at the space. The flower beds have all been planted, just in need of some edging and nearly all the vegetable plots are filled. 

What a wonderful day on the acre! Wednesday's are firmly our favourite day of the week; we always look forward to the camaraderie, the teamwork and the freedom and today was an exceptionally great experience.
