What a contrast to last weeks Volunteering day...today was grey, wet and windy. We continued to make progress clearing the site in the 'secluded area' and it shows so much promise.
What a fantastic day on the acre; fresh air, scrub clearing, sun shine and a terrific fire!
The area we tackled today has opened up a larger than envisaged spot which is beautifully secluded. We have been thinking of how best to make use of it and how to compliment the acre.
It was great to be back on the acre today, after the foul weather has prevented us being able to progress much in the garden there was much enthusiasm, despite the claggy mud!
Enjoyable and educational day on the acre with lots of good work. A local gardening expert (trained at Wisley) gave a fantastic pruning class in the orchard, showing us the best length to cut at, teaching us about water shoots and how to create shape.
A great days effort on the coldest Wednesday of the year so far. So much was achieved and the significant progress on the vegetable patch means that we can look forward with confidence.
We had another great day on the acre for our volunteer Wednesday, lots going on and it was great to see either projects coming towards conclusion or new projects taking form.
