frosty starts
space2play had great fun with snow and ice at the beginning of the year. They cracked it and smashed it, skated on it and added it to their mud kitchen creations. Some of the children were able to bring their older siblings, because they hadn't started back at school yet. It has rained a lot but everyone has shown great resilience and embraced the weather. Without rain there would be no puddles, no mud and the hot chocolate wouldn't taste so good!
Young Carers
We have the pleasure of hosting a delightful group of young carers to the garden every month for an after school session. During the last few months it has been cold, wet and dark, but the children have such resilience and an infectious sense of humour. They love to explore and play the most hilarious games. Basically they love being just as children should be.
busy despite the rain
It has been an incredibly wet January but the gardening team have been busy doing the 'inside' jobs such as giving all the tools a much needed sharpen as well as painting blackboards. This week the break in the rain allowed for hedge trimming and sorting of the veg patch. There is much planning and organising behind the scenes even on those wet days!
The Men in Sheds team completed some bug houses for a project coming up at the Farnham museum..watch this space. They also have numerous repair jobs in hand involving public benches and notice boards. Doing a great job working through their very long list.
new term for Teen wellbeing groups
New groups started from Weydon & Farnham Heath End School. The children made wood chimes. Harvesting bamboo, cutting to length and stripped. they then use hooks and string to carefully assemble the chimes - they did a fantastic job. They also created beautiful bird feeders from willow. They looked magical.
Our Talking Teens course returns after the Feb Half Term and there are spaces available.
Parents look at lots of different topics, including understanding of teenage development and the influence of brain development on behaviour.
