The fun of getting lost!

Easter holiday club!

The Joy of getting lost! We love this quote from one of the children as they ran towards the little maze in the garden;

"I didn't realise you could get lost in something so small. And I didn't know getting lost in something so small would be so fun. I am so haaaaaapppy"

Over the Easter Holiday we were able to offer a free Holiday Club to local families. Running from Tuesday 2nd April to Friday 5th April, we had over 200 children and parents attend. Catherine Floyd, the space2play lead, set up an array of activities and parents got a break whilst their children enjoyed the garden. Worms were found, trees climbed, artwork created and mud enjoyed! A fabulous time all around.

wise words

Our group from Farnham Heath End School continue to impress us with their creativity. They weaved willow fish, moustaches (!) and fountain pens writing wise & witty observations.  Our new group from Weydon also had their first session finding newts, getting stuck into digging the veg beds beds and creating willow headdresses. A huge thank you to Waverley Thriving Communities fund for supporting the EBSNA groups and making these opportunities possible.

behind the scenes!

As we move into Spring...and hopefully warmer weather, we are incredibly grateful to the volunteers and groups that help behind the scenes. The bicycle wheel structure got trimmed to allow children to climb in it again, the pond got a well needed clear out and the Men in Sheds team helped put up a donated fruit cage. Thank you you also to the team at Avery & Brown who, guided by Garden lead Susie, cleared a space for our summer camping and helped with the watering system for the greenhouse.

reflections from the acre...

This weeks reflections are an array of the lovely quotes & photos from the Easter Holiday Club. We love when the acre is enjoyed by so many and it makes us realise how important this little patch of land is for the local families who visit.

"Thank you. Can we do this every day."

"I feel really proud today because I got dirty and made a really good mud cake."

" I am happy because I was able to teach people what I had learnt about the pond creatures."
