Busy sunny days in the garden and an invitation!

London Fields school annual visit

Summer at space2grow kicked off with our annual visit from year 5 children from London Fields Primary School in Hackney. The children had such a fun packed time we're going to be sending you a special email to share all the joy! Coming very soon!

afternoons on the acre

'Afternoons on the acre' is back! All it takes is an email to info@space2grow.space to book to come and spend a relaxing afternoon in the space2grow garden.

growing & cooking

Our latest growing & cooking group from Potter's Gate School has just come to an end. The children had an amazing time learning about veg growing and cooking delicious healthy meals from scratch with Coral's Cookery School and got to use fresh veg from the garden too!

Join us for a doorstep duet!

Don't miss a fantastic dance performance in the space2grow garden at 12.15 on Friday 22 July. A free private event where you can have a performance right on your doorstep in your local neighbourhood. Escape from the everyday and immerse yourself in the stories, which in true New Adventures style, are lively, characterful, and full of happiness. Created by New Adventures in partnership with Farnham Maltings. New Adventures are a ground-breaking British dance-theatre company, famous for telling stories with a unique theatrical twist.

Language lessons in the garden

So happy to welcome a group of Ukranian ladies to the garden. Over the summer they will be having weekly English lessons at space2grow and enjoying the garden. Thank you to the wonderful local volunteers and Farnham Town Council who have made this happen.

wild home schooling

Making magical wild animals to live in our magical wild garden was the latest activity enjoyed by our local home school group.

in our garden

Keeping the garden watered is a big priority for our volunteers during the heatwave. The hot weather is encouraging us to take it easy and enjoy the garden from a shady spot under a tree.

Tree donation

We'd like to say a big thank you to The Patio Black Spot Removal Co. for donating trees and plants that had adorned their award winning stand at the Chelsea Flower Show. We feel very honoured to have them - now planted at the end of the wild flower meadow and looking great.

reflections from the acre....

Parenting courses are a regular activity in our talking shed. The most recent was a 5 week Talking Teen course which helps parents understand teenage development and the impacts on behaviour. Here are some of their thoughts on the course......

"The course was friendly and welcoming, a safe space to share experiences and ideas. Topics were explained well and with
appropriate humour, which always helps!"
All the topics covered were relevant, the most useful to me was probably the last session where we discussed how to talk to your teenager and get them to find ways with you to make changes in their behaviour and to problem solve together, e.g. being online, gaming etc. Also, the sessions on empathy and what parents/ teenagers say was so, so useful."
"I'll remember to take a breather....think before you talk, think about what the teens would think about your response, and then their reaction."
"I would certainly recommend the talking teens programme to other parents!”

A big thank you to the Trumark Trust for supporting this course. Our next Talking Teens course starts on Thursday 22nd September, after the summer break. If you are interested please email info@theparentingspace.space

If you would like to share what the acre means to you please email info@space2grow.space - we love hearing everyones reflections.

As always, we are working hard to ensure that space2grow remains a Covid safe site so please email info@space2grow.space prior to your visits, don't attend if you, or someone you live with has tested positive. Don't forget to take any rubbish home with you too.

Thank you and see you soon!
